While I Was Away…
I was on the move for about 8 months. If you were trying to catch me, don’t take it personally. I was trying to catch myself. But, I’m back and here’s what went down while I was away:
I turned 22. Nothing crazy. Just a reminder that I’m alive and still aging.
I was a student teacher taking night classes. It just about killed me. I was working endlessly to get a degree while essentially working a full time job in the field my degree was preparing me for. I worked long days at a high school and spent long nights in class, preparing lessons, grading work, and doing my own homework. I slept very little. But, I’m alive to tell the tale.
I graduated college. I graduated Summa Cum Laude (words that mean a lot to me and probably very little to the rest of the world now) with a Bachelor’s in Spanish and Secondary Education. I think. I’m still figuring out exactly how to say it.
I became a Spanish teacher. I took a job at Centennial High School. The degree mentioned above now makes me qualified to be in charge of high schoolers. I have loved getting to teach and I am grateful that I get to continue doing it at a school I fell in love with.
I moved into a new house. My friends and I migrated to East Nashville and we now get to call it our home.
I finally caught myself in a corner somewhere and now I’m currently interrogating her to make sure she’s the one I’ve been looking for. I’ve got a lot of questions to ask.
I still love to write, I just now have time to do it again. I’m happy to be back and I’m excited to slowly put more pieces of myself out into the world.
