The Start

If you know me, you know that I've always had poems stashed away in different journals. From the 8 year old, who wrote poems in a little spiral notebook she carried everywhere. From the 12 year old, who wrote poems for poetry slams. From the 16 year old, who wrote about her life while trying to survive high school. From the 21 year old, who's doing her best to figure her life out and do what makes her happy along the way. Writing has always brought me joy and my poems have always been something I was proud of, but I never felt they were "good enough" to share with other people. I was afraid of what other people might think if they read the things I wrote so I kept them to myself, with the exception of the very few people I’ve trusted enough to share them with.

Recently, I started asking myself, "What makes something 'good enough' to share?" If I love what I do and I want to share it with other people, I should. So, here I am. I'm deciding that the things I create are "good enough" to share with anybody willing to read and listen.
